Nunn Finer Breastplates are available in traditional 3 way or 5 way styles in Italian or bridle leather with quality brass or zinc fittings. Breastplates help to prevent the saddle from sliding backward and are particularly useful when riding and jumping over changing terrain such as during cross country or fox hunting. Traditional 3-way breastplates are attached at the two dees of the saddle and at the girth between the horse’s front legs, while 5-way breastplates add two additional attachments at either side of the girth below the saddle flaps. Breastplates may be converted to a martingale with an added attachment at the center ring.
